Pope St. Pius V , born Antonio Ghislieri, from 1518 called Michele Ghislieri, was Pope from 1566 to 1572 and is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Involved early on in the Inquisition, as Pope he resisted the influence of Protestants. He was born as Antonio Ghislieri at Bosco in the duchy of Milan , Italy.
